
Queen Elizabeth II has served 65 years on the throne making her the longest serving monarch in history. While not officially involved in political matters she does receive weekly meetings with the British Prime Minister. There have been 13 during her reign.

- In February 1952 she ascended the throne at 25 after the early demise of her father.
- The Queen’s husband is Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, a descendant of Greek and Danish royalty. They have been married for over 70 years. She met him at 13 and it was love at first site.
- The Queen has 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
