Stopped at 4 wineries today. Was fun, but pricey. Tastings are $12 for 6 wines, with wines costing $16 to $29.

First stop was the Swedish Hill Vineyard, and while it was to be open, it wasn’t, however, enjoyed seeing the Vineyard on this sunny, crisp day. But in the future will call ahead, and recommend that to others. However, as you drive through the many vineyards it is likely you will find one open.

Will have to return on a weekend.

Knapp Winery

Of the four wineries this was my favorite. Bought their Port wine, very good. Acquired a taste for Port when in Portugal and this wine gave Portugal a bit of a run for their money. Also enjoyed their NV Pasta Red Reserve, $18. and the sweeter version NV Pasta Red rs. 2.3% $15. All the wineries have Wine Clubs and with Knapp 3 bottles give 5% OFF, 6 -7% off, and 12-10% off.

Looks like a fun line up with music planned for the season, and only 30 minutes outside of Auburn. Will be visiting Knapp again.

Leaving Knapp drove down a steep incline only to come upon the mesmerizing Cayuga Lake.

She is bewitching!

Next stop… Hosmer Winery

Since I only drink red I limit the tastings to that brew. Purchased a bottle of Estate Red as the vanilla hints tickled my palate.

Montezuma Winery

This Winery is a bit of a gem with its quaint store and fantastic location – just down the road from the Waterloo Outlets. Here I met a well versed server and enjoyed the company of another couple who were tasting. While I didn’t purchase any wine will return at a later date for Penuche Fudge – my all time favorite and difficult to find.
