This Alaskan national park is larger than the State of New Jersey with 6 million acres of wild land. Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America at 20,310 feet above sea level. The park attracts back country campers and mountaineers. Be prepared on your visit to see legendary wild life.
For those wishing a more sedate experience there are buses which transport visitors. There is only one road through the park and buses are contractually operated by a service other than the National Park Service. Make reservations. Visitors can take a train from other parts of Alaska which delivers them to the park entrance.
The Northern lights can be seen at various times from the park and visitors are welcomed year round with summer the busiest season.

Today is the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima. It was on this day the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to 3 shepherd children – Lucia dos Santos, and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto in Fatima, Portugal. During these apparitions, which continued for the next 6 months, always on the 13th, the children prayed the rosary with Mary.
Apocalyptic visions and prophecies of World War I, World War II, Hell, persecutions of 20th century Christians, and the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II were shared with the children during this time.
Jacinta and Francisco died during the 1919 Pandemic as young children. Lucia became a cloistered Carmelite sister receiving revelations till her death at 97 in 2005.
I raise this as those suffering with Corona Virus may wish to pray to Jacinta and Francisco for assistance.

Nancy Pelosi is an American politician currently serving as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. She is from the State of California and is currently in her 17th term working in the House having been named speaker in 2019. She is 80 years young.
Nancy is the mother of 5 children and has been married to her husband Paul since 1963. She is a strict Catholic and attended Notre Dame High School and Trinity University in Washington D.C.
Politics came early in her blood with her father being Mayor of Baltimore, Maryland and later serving in the US House of Representatives for the district. She attended her first political convention at 7 years of age. She married, had children, and returned to the political arena after her children were grown.
In her current position as Speaker of the House she keeps the House in order and assigns committee memberships and chairmanships. It is a 2 year term voted by roll call. She holds a very powerful position.

As I listen to those who obviously have English as a second language report on our American political system on national news stations bothers me. Why? Well, they are taking jobs away from our citizens and I never recall watching European or Chinese news while visiting their countries with an American reporting on their politics.
Something to think about.
It doesn’t seem possible that it has been over a year since the Notre Dame fire. While plans are underway for reconstruction things have slowed in light of the virus.

No one speaks about this so I will. Each year I tire of this holiday hearing how mothers read bed time stories or bake cookies. My mother did none of that. She dead now, and quite frankly I’m relieved as her misery of being a mom is over. In her final years I walked away as I had enough.
And the circle is closed as a therapist once said as each year my daughter forgets the card, or the email comes late. It hurts, but I understand as I was never much of a mom. As a single parent this role was challenging, and not a happy one. I cringe when I hear grandmother, but, am hopeful a mother- in- law will handle that. I do like dogs.
So best wishes to those enjoying the day with mom. I will enjoy this day knowing it will be happy, peaceful, and just another day.
As I write this blog it is April 19th. Trump is inciting states to open via tweets and his supporters are conducting mass rallies to support him throughout the country. When I read this on May 10th I pray I am wrong, however, there will be deaths from those attending these rallies and innocents will be affected.
Reminders of interviews with pro-gun factions who lost children due to their guns are recalled. Their grief was insurmountable causing them to disband their beliefs. Two questions arise:
Will that come from these rallies?
But at what cost?
