As of 3 am looks like Sf. Augustine has bit the bullet, and while the City was forced to evacuate it seems only rain and wind has been a concern. Flooding will occur but one can live with that.

So, alas one less property to be concerned about.

If only it would sell.

On to the next worry, the cabin, where seasonal water will end shortly. While my construction guy promised he’ll have the job done today he hasn’t shown, or responded to my texts. And when I called, the call dropped. Perhaps he lost his phone, or maybe he’s just sick of me?

I am aware he has several projects going on at once, but this project began in August, wouldn’t you think he’d prioritize it and want it done?

Let’s hope he’s lost his phone.

As I ponder my thoughts regarding this election I can’t help but think of this analogy.

Perhaps it is because I am surrounded by contractors this idea came. Construction is a male dominated field, and many of these guys will be voting for the rapist. So I don’t ask, don’t tell, about any political views.

And quite frankly it scares me to be around these men knowing they would vote for a rapist and misogynist.

And I wonder…What are they thinking of me as a single woman with an enormous Hillary poster adorning by living room wall?

That said it does come out as it did today with one of the black construction workers.

He is the one with the most to loose should the rapist be elected.

Doesn’t he know this man is a racist?

So when I said I voted for Kamala I only said

“Female Health Care,”

and changed the subject.

I have been remiss in mentioning this great man’s birthday. 🎂 The greatest post presidential president of all times who along with his wife Rosalyn created a healthier and safer world 🌍 for us all.

Here’s a sampling of what he accomplished..

• Author ✍️ of more than 30 📕 from carpentry to prayer.
• Married over 77 years, met Rosalyn at birth knowing her for over 93 years.
• A Nobel Peace Prize 🏆
• Created 8 million jobs during his presidency.
• Expanded the National Park System to include Alaska.
• First to discuss climate change, and begin to address our environment woes.
• Established full diplomatic ties with China.
• Middle East peace accords with Egypt and Israel. It stuck….
• Eradicated the Guinea Worm Disease in Africa through the Carter Center efforts.
• A Sunday school teacher.
• A builder of homes for Habitat for America.
• Established the Department of Education.
• Salt II treaty with Russia on nuclear arms.

And he has vowed to live till he votes for Kamala Harris and see her elected!

While visiting Newburgh, New York, came across this college sign. Had always wanted to attend this college, but cost was a major factor, so elected to go the community college route.

My parents stated they would not offer any assistance but paid for my sister’s 4 years at a private women’s college.

Go figure, and enough said.

In retrospect they were right as nursing is one awful career path.

It pays the bills, but at a cost.

Seeing this lovely small college makes one wonder about choices made.

What if?

The Path..

Hadn’t been here since my 50th birthday and the revisit was sublime. They also have festivities on the bridge so google for these events.

But right now just enjoy the view.

I parked on the street however if you journey further on there is a 🅿️ and you avoid 3 tiers of stairs to walk.

What a beautiful day!

While the tree 🌲 was being removed I took a jaunt with first stop an apple farm.

This apple farm is in the Hudson Valley.

You never know what you’ll find when you travel.

Their limited and simple signage led to quite a find down a windy and steep road.

Here I did some retail damage with a pumpkin 🎃 pie for Thanksgiving at $14.95, 2 jars of preserves at $6.95 each, along with a half gallon of apple 🍎 cider at $7.

But bring cash as $7 per person entry fee and a credit card service fee of 4% which they waived as I spent much.

The assortment of apples is grand with the paths to the trees an easy walk.

And the views of the Catskills- priceless..

One thing struck me on this visit as I was the only English speaking American there, and the place had quite a crowd for a weekday. There were Bangladeshi, Pilipino, Spanish, and Orthodox folk all represented.

And isn’t that what makes us great.

We are a melting pot of diversity.

Gosh, haven’t written in 3 days, have you missed me? Been up to my eye balls 👀 in cabin renovations.

The final diseased tree has been removed.

This tree was at least 150 years old and from the front and top looked healthy with a great leaf structure. However, when you looked at the back there was a 15 inch triangular opening 8 inches deep.

Its trajectory for fall was the roof of the cabin.

Also, Hilda and Heidi my septic tank and cement leech field are now covered.

My contractor claimed he wasn’t around for several days due to rain, and I’ll give him that. But, since I’ve given him deadlines and a bonus for completing by Monday all is happening faster than squirrel can scurry away from an oncoming car.
