Leave Biden Alone..

Biden is gone but we are hearing of him more than when he was in office. Don’t you tire of the rapist claiming Joe did nothing and what he did was wrong. Poor Joe, wish he’d defend himself but that’s not him to interfere.

Let’s hope he’s on a beach or a bike ride in Delaware enjoying himself.

Miss you, Joe

I so wish he was back in the Oval.

Go to hell, George Clooney!

Hope you and Jill are enjoying yourselves.

Caveat: This was written before the new diagnosis came out. Odd how the pundits and newscasters are linking his brain to the prostate and trashing Joe again. What you give out, you get back, karma….

Foggy Day

Have been upset about the contractor who took money from me, and didn’t complete the work, or did it erroneously. These concerns have been going on for many months now.

I have spoken with the state police, sheriff’s department, untold numbers of lawyers, and frankly exhausted every option. I spoke with every lawyer in the local Chamber of Commerce, and while they gave ideas and free advice, they declined to take me on. And when I worked with the NYS Mediation folks, the contractor never returned calls or texts.

I wanted to keep this as low budget as possible as I already have lost over 40 grand, between what I paid, and what I had to pay to fix work done erroneously. And to make things worse even the one plumbing contractor who claimed to fix things knew it couldn’t be resolved. This I learned recently, however, that was “only” 6 grand.

It’s disheartening considering how hard I worked all these years to obtain these monies, and to watch the monies disappear even more upsetting.

I finally came across Small Claims Court and while 3 grand is only a drop in the bucket, it was worth a try. The court clerk was helpful, and I was awarded the 3 grand. At Small Claims Court I met an Assistant DA, and things are in motion. I have officially asked for the monies from the contractor via text, and certified letter. The sheriff’s department has also contacted me, and if I don’t receive the monies the contractor will be arrested.

While I am hopeful the monies will come through I doubt that they will. Why do I write this in a blog? Well, I am told the contractor also has ties to nefarious folks who could potentially harm me so this documentation is key.

Let’s hope this comes to a peaceful resolution.

Building Fences

I’m beginning to take a liking to the new pope. While it’s doubtful I’ll rejoin the church, I can appreciate from the sidelines, and cheer him on in my own way.

First off we are almost the same age so grew up in America during the same era, therefore, similar values. We stood up for something bigger than ourselves, and while I’m not a math genius as he is, this fraternity makes sense.

A few days ago the rapist decided to cold call the man. The Pope didn’t shake his hand, and gave him a talking to about service to the people. It was done politely though the rapist’s intrusion was not, however, am unsure if the rapist got his point, but we did.

Then there was his visit Thursday in the Ukraine with the head of the Greek Catholic Church. He was there to discuss the negotiations to end this war.

Who knows, maybe he’ll be washing hands with Putin next?

The Holy Spirit is in action here.

Bush Again?

When my daughter graduated from college under the bush administration she couldn’t find a job. She resorted to taking jobs outside her degree, and these were mainly low paying, (before Cuomo’s $15/hour). Gratefully, her mother was able to pay for her college, and then send her whatever I could to keep her afloat. She’s good at 42, but took her till then to locate a job with health insurance. Without that bonus she’s delayed most of her life, so we’re looking at motherhood at 43 or 44?., if that is even possible?…. And as a now public servant ain’t no walk in the park. I’m reliving my 23 years of mainly horror as one through her stories.

But, she’s grateful for the job and has her chin up, “I’ve finally got health insurance,” she proudly states.

Then there is the present day story of the young man across the street. He’s brilliant, and almost completed his Masters in Biology. He was hoping for a job in research, however, now the funds have dried with this possibility for this as well. However, the student loans haven’t and he too will need to seek a different path, and parental support.

Is it no wonder they are angry and confused?

And isn’t this all our loss?

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, and wish I had a funny Stephen Colbert line on this one, however, this hurts us all.

Brilliant minds taking a different path.

But maybe on one of those great new yachts the billionaires purchase with the tax cuts we’re giving them they can get a minimum wage job as wait staff?

Is that funny?

I have a casing..

While in Boston I received a text from the well driller stating, “Can I drill tomorrow?” Much to my amazement I returned home to find my yard in disarray and a foreign object in the spot where we had discussed a well could be drilled.

It has now been 5 days since my return and while I texted him, “Thank you,” I have received no further communication.

Well, at least I haven’t received a bill.

Martha’s Vineyard

Boston is a great city, and the cleanest I’ve ever visited, but found myself lacking in things to do. There were no theaters or museums left for me to see which I haven’t already.

The Museum of Fine Arts is spectacular.

As is the Museum of Science..

Cambridge

And there is a Fine Arts Museums at Tufts which I’m sure is equally grand as Harvard’s, however, quite frankly I was museum’d out, if there is such a word..

So when I saw the Expedia tour for Martha’s Vineyard at $179., I joined on..

Started the day leaving at 615 from Btown. Then a short 90 minute jaunt with 12 senior ladies from all parts of the world.

What a beautiful drive down the coast and through Falmouth, one of the most elegant and expensive towns of the Cape. Homes start at $800,000. If only..

Stopped at a lighthouse on the edge of town.

View from the lighthouse..

Then on to the boat, the Martha’s Vineyard, for a 40 minute ride across the sea..

What a fun ride only $10.50 each way!

Next joined Tom, a native, for a phenomenal tour. He gave so much information and insights into the isle that my cup overflowed.

Martha has been around over 10,000 years with Indians inhabiting it. Indians still remain and very happy to hear they have been given much protection. They now are considering building a casino on island. And while locals are adverse to this, they have little say.

One of the oldest homes on the isle

This home is one of the religious communities homes. They still come and summer here having their own police and fire department.

After The World War much of the isle was left and African Americans came and bought the homes which were abandoned. These folks remain passing their homes down to future generations.

Another religious community home

The likes of black politicians, actors, and sports figures, own these homes. And our guide Tom stated there are amazing Juneteenth celebrations in this area.

Next on to Edgartown

Town Hall

And oh the shops readying for the influx of tourists.,

And the gardens

Do some rocking or,

sit awhile.,
What a tree! Rentals go for $10,000. a week
More Pristine Shops
And the sea at the end of the street..

From here we passed where the Obama’s had their home as well as the likes of Ted Danson and Jackie O. The area is filled with celebrity, and notables, and our guide Tom knew all.

He and his family had even stayed at the White House on four separate occasions while President Clinton was in office.

But for me the high point of our tour was the bluffs..

Reminds me of the California coast
Beyond Words

This was the quickest 3 hour tour I had ever been on. Wish I could have captured more pictures. Once back at the boat area had some delicious fish at this spot..

And enjoyed the walk back to the boat as I passed this scene..

How True..

One last gingerbread house..

What a memorable visit.

Harvard Egyptian Museum

Another free and fascinating museum!

While all the artifacts were replicas a true vision of the works was seen.

As the placards mentioned most of these antiquities are spread through the world in various museums. Also they were broken apart due to the weight of transport.

Let’s explore..

This is the chair of Queen Heterpese recreated by Harvard staff.

Another beautiful replica

And the chair of King Tut, front
and back. This is a bit more masculine in feature with strong woods and marble inlay.
Canopic Jar

These held the bodily organs of the deceased and were maintained in the tombs with the departed.

.

Several amazing sarcophagus were on exhibit. Always amazed how the colors stay so vibrant.
On the first floor is a reconstructed home of an agricultural family in this area from 1000 B.C.

There is also a Peabody Museum of Natural History on this street, however I was museum’d out by this time, and entrance fee $16. Have heard it is equally amazing.

Tomorrow, Martha Vineyard awaits..

The Harvard Museum of Art

Amazing

What a collection! It mirrors all the great museums of the 🌎 . Let’s take a walk through the halls..

Monet
Renoir self portrait
Picasso Mother and Child
Van Gogh from his dark period 3 Shoes
Manet
Cezanne

And these above works were the donation of a 1906 grad who was a hedge fund manager. Guess he didn’t loose his monies in the depression.

More wonderful works, enjoy!

Jackson Pollock

There was an Edvard Munich exhibit during my visit. He’s the artist who did The Scream. Like these other works of his more.

The Kiss

Self Portrait

Other Works by greats..

Renoir
An askew John Singer Sargent
Winslow Homer
Rembrandt

On the upper floors there are the work areas where these masterpieces are repaired.

And a final look at some other works..

Such emotion to this work
This is a portrayal of a young child, very different and interesting.
How well preserved.

What a treat this Museum was and free!
