When my daughter was going to college some 25 years ago I was short a grand for her tuition, and was beside myself. So I placed a small purple wildflower in the Feng Shui prosperity section of my studio apartment.

Well lo and behold within a half an hour my parents called to say they were giving me $1000 toward my daughter’s tuition for college.

Now these people never gave me a red cent towards my college education as they thought nursing was an awful career, which in retrospect they were correct, however, it pays the bills, and has my entire life.

Later I discovered they paid for four years of a private women’s college for my sister, but for me, nothing came. Oh well they never liked me anyway, and forgive the rant, it made me a better person for it.

When they died they were generous.

Guess they didn’t know how to stuff it in the casket.

Today my contractor told me he was coming and of course he didn’t show. I’m glad I’ve held out five grand as I wonder if he’s actually going to come through.

Today I got a quote from a contractor which is $4000 less than someone I’ve had do much work on the cabin. Now I know I was overcharged on multiple items but lesson learned and it’s done. ✔️. Also the overcharger came when he said he was coming, and while that doesn’t enrich the bottom line, it means something.
