Today I went to volunteer training at Bethel Woods Center For The Arts. This venue

is located at the former site of the August 1969 Woodstock Music Festival, which for those unaware, was where 450,000 joined to watch 32 acts with everyone from Richie Havens to Joan Baez performing.

The Museum is a must see. I recall being 13 and stuck on the New York State Thruway during the event.

The Arts Center

The training was extremely well done and learned much of the Center’s program. They have been open 18 years, and their executive director started as a volunteer.

The Center offers a myriad of programs besides the performance piece. While initially I volunteered for ushering I will be looking at other opportunities and much is available.

Thus far 28 performers are scheduled for the season.

This year they are opening a campground with prices from $100 a night, basic, to a glam camping spot – 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms etc.. $600/ night. Must have a ticket to ⛺️.

And the Center is only 10 minutes from my cabin.

Cabin Update: I have a plumber 🪠, and by Tuesday will be able to wash my hair and shower.

What joy! Oh the glories of hot water.

It’s 6 am and the new plumber is due at 8, 🤞. Am pretty sure he’ll show but know the job is challenging, however, perhaps the creative component will entice him???

Last night was inspired to revamp the kitchen floor. Had purchased tiles from Amazon but felt them too busy, and not durable enough.

So tore up the linoleum did an easy sand, and polyurethaned the wood floor.

Looks great doesn’t it, and the price under $50.

Yesterday the carpenter arrived and measured for the cabin skirting. This will protect the pipes under the cabin from freezing.

Getting excited that things are moving along!

And have to do as much as possible as the carpenter is having knee surgery in the fall.

Started my day early with Jim, the plumber, arriving at 0730 promptly. My realtor said he was young, but she neglected to tell me he was movie star quality. Didn’t know they made plumbers that looked like that. Let’s hope his abilities are as good as his 👀.

After the plumbing consultation was on to the tire store my good 👀 plumber recommended. His recommendation was spot on, and I was in and out in 15 minutes to the tune of $180.

OUCH!!

Next decided to purchase the 20 inch electric stove from the messenger seller and contacted him. To purchase this item new from the big box hardware store with tax, cord, takeaway of current stove, and delivery was over $700.

Since he was home I was on my way for the 90 minute ride.

What a glorious day for a ride with the Catskill’s spring bushes and flowers in their glory with pink and yellow. Was fun to drive by the prisons I used to visit when a corrections employee.

Upon arrival at the seller’s home realized the stove would not fit in the trunk or back seat of the car. Who thought? So, pulled out my trusty rooftop cargo carrier and the stove fit and was secured for the 90 minute ride! These carriers are magic.

Once home the stove easily slid off the roof and was then cleaned. 🧼. Two cans of oven cleaner and several rolls of bounty later produced a miraculous conversion. My stove had a great shine and new look. Who says an old babe can’t be fixed up? And this doll must be somewhere in her fifties..

Upon picking up my cleansers noted a flat tire on the back of the car. What?!!! Two tires in one day? Could this be true? Yes, Mercury retrograde is not yet completed.

Since it was 430 drove quickly to the gas station where the unfriendly Pakistani owners gave me change for the air machine to inflate the tire.

As I inflated the tire I heard air escaping. This was not a good sign, however, I made it the 10 miles to the tire store. Upon arrival I was greeted with, “Weren’t you here this morning?” How perceptive of them, I was noticed. Probably they spoke of me all day as when they called my guy sleepy Joe I told them I ❤️ Joe and all became mum.🤐

So, another $180. later, was relieved to have a $150. stove as now I have the tires to pay for.

And as I drove home 🏠 noted the pothole which started this situation had been filled with newly minted asphalt..

What a difference a day makes, and

for democracy, to say the least. Both the rapist prez and I had quite a day, however, I came out a winner.

Hit a pothole and blew a tire 🛞. Was selling my propane stove and the man purchasing the item was on route. He changed the tire in exchange for a free stove. And he does work that I need for the cabin.

Always feel out of bad comes good.

So, all that said what good is coming from this criminal trial…

• Seems like the rapist prez is getting some well deserved rest as he continues to fall asleep 💤 during the trial.
• Biden’s numbers are increasing,
• while truth social stock continues to drop.
• Baron won’t have his dad at his graduation giving both melody and Baron a few hours of peace.
• The rapist prez can’t use his phone for several hours giving US all a bit of rest.

Brought this jewel with me. It was a God send during my Pandemic travel nurse days when no laundromats were open.

What a life saver.

Already been here in cabin heaven a month and after snatching the last heater at Walmart I am now comfy.

So, after doing some light laundry in my home machine decided to explore the local laundromat for the heavier items. Found it to be clean, with WiFi, comfortable seating, and great washers and dryers.

There was much helpful service as well. Much of my new town has Hispanic residents. In Walmart thought I was in a foreign land as Latin music 🎶 plays in the store.

So while the laundry washed decided to explore the area.

Found several Hispanic run businesses in the area. Immigrants are known to start businesses. In fact I believe the laundromat is owned by Hispanics.

Here’s some other businesses in the area.

Recently read an article stating migrants contribution is what has caused the US economic growth. It stated that their contribution was 20%. They are 18.6% of the labor force, and by 2034 will be contributing $7 trillion to the tax base.

Living in NYC I saw how hard working these folks are so when the rapist prez denigrates them I cringe.

Weird as 2 out of 3 of his wives were foreigners.

So with my tour concluded decided to continue my new read.

Have plowed through 450 pages and what a fascinating life. She’s given so much to all of us in her performances, and nice to get the truth from the source.

Have much in the hopper and underway. Windows are due in 3 weeks and electric update completed in 2 weeks.

I have had water for 5 days but while no hot water it’s wonderful to have a functional toilet. Have always been grateful for water, but being without for 2 weeks puts it all in a different light. Besides hygiene concerns had to think about food prep, using dishes, cleaning 🧹 , etc.., etc.

Yesterday found another well company, and they appeared promptly, and am looking at end of April for drilling!! Yes!! It’s a one stop shopping experience as I need a survey and the 94 year old owner has a granddaughter who does this.

They make them hearty in the mountains!

This weekend the blown in insulation estimate is due and hopefully this will help with chill as there’s is no heat in the cabin. To refill the kerosene container was $50.

Who knew? So while a nice gesture from Rob, the electrician, kerosene heaters are an expensive option for 2 days of heat.

This weekend having a roofer stop by to check out the roof. Have moss which needs removal. Unsure if I want to go on the roof and do the deed as I recently found Humana coverage a challenge here.

Found an amazing local ENT and my breathing is back on track which I am enormously grateful for, but a lump on my wrist recently came. Dr. Melvin P. from NY Pres who performed a miracle on my hand 10 years ago won’t take my insurance. The nearest hand provider is 60 miles away. For another blog….

As to the condo I received another offer which was $40,000. less than the one the week before.

Lesson learned- Never buy something where you share a wall.
