Three Days Out.. it’s 2 a.m.

Haven’t written in 3 days. Much happening on the cabin front. After 3 weeks without water gave up on my contractor and explored other routes. What a hassle to find someone to do the work, only to learn my favorite electrician, (a woman), down the street rents from a guy with the skills I needed to complete the project. Quite frankly I think the current contractor had no clue.

Asked AI to generate a photo of clueless for the blog and got this. He even resembles the contractor.

Well, this man arrived on Saturday with a bud, and for 12 hours they busted hump. Labor was $2400, plus $1680 in plumbing supplies. Another 4 grand out, but I had water with pressure, and you gotta have water.

I also learned that when the septic was done the 2 sinks and shower were not connected to the septic. The way this water departed the cabin was through a 6 inch pipe spitting out the gray water on to the backyard dirt. Since I had no water nothing came from this pipe but believe me when I saw the pipe I wondered.

Another AI generated pic, not as close as the last one but you get the drift. It’s a pipe.

While my new contractor plumber said I could wait till spring to fix the situation I was skeptical. Since I didn’t want frozen outside pipes in February and having to find help, I found another plumber who did the job. $750., However, now I have to plunge the sink and shower with every water drainage.

Another call and results await.

Next post plumbing… yard excavation required and obtained by an excavator to cover tanks with soil, move rocks, and fill massive pot holes. This guy was amazing worked for 8 hours, with my war zone lot now a level field with boulders placed decoratively in piles and tanks buried. RIP..

$800. not a bad price.

And the stars were in alignment on this one as guess what happened 2 days later – 10 inches of snow with an electrical outage till 9:30 am.

As I was sleeping at 7:30 a.m., heard noise in the cabin crawl space. Told my errant contractor to remove his tractor and items by close of business the day prior. Was making plans to have the tractor removed by the police, however, he showed now busily investigating the cabin crawl space. The errant one who never showed as stated was now under my bedroom window checking for tools left. However, kind me had placed all on the picnic table which his exonerated co-conspirator, now former employee, had picked up earlier in the week for the errant one.

The errant contractor took tubing from the crawl space then lamented his $1400. lights were gone from the property. Apparently someone had stolen them, though he claimed I had. After an angry exchange where I released pent up dismay, the errant one charged up the tractor, (which had been left on the property for 3 weeks), and was gone.

So, it’s been a busy three days, and toss in night shifts with some above average challenges – unsure why the universe is giving these situations as I am spent.

Oh, how I look forward to 2025.

And today for 9 hours labored on a report for Small Claims Court regarding monies given, and work not completed by the errant one.

For Monday delivery – fingers crossed…
