I repeat the title.. I don’t get it… I simply don’t understand why we are having a government shut down. Wasn’t all that business resolved back several months ago?

OR

Is this a repeat episode because of the writer’s strike?

One can dream.

When the deal was cut it was with bipartisan support. There was not to be any budgetary controversy till after the 2024 election so our legislative bodies could continue working on items for the good of the American people.

And what are those items?

You know things like the jim jordan circus show – and why is he even around anyway after the Ohio wresting scandal? Maybe you aren’t aware, and for another blog. He is the one who should be in jail.

And what of his January 6th role? He never testified, and was one of the master minds, if you can call it that. He was in the DC hotel planning with the co-defendants as the unproud boys circled the place to protect them. Oh, Jack Smith if you could only get that worm.

However, there are so many worms in the republican party hard to get them all.

And then the 2 billion dollar take away, and we aren’t talking Chinese food here, from the saudi prince to jared kushner for a job well done. Why isn’t that being investigated? That was illegal. kushner’s father was jailed by chris christie so perhaps jared could have the same federal cell?

The apple don’t fall far from the tree.

Money passing one hand to the other, only the apple is bad.

Finally, do I mention the point man for the billionaires on the unsupreme court? Loved the roasting he had by Senator Whitehouse of Rhode Island this week, however, is anything getting done on that????

I digress..

So if you know why we are having a shut down please direct me to the explanation as I keep reading and listening to the pundits. None have enlightened me as I handle my senior platform from my perch on the couch. I am told Stephen Sondheim wrote here so have adopted the same method. It works…..

Maybe there is a Tony in my future?.

I did come up with one possible benefit for the shutdown…

Perhaps I will receive a belated Medicare bill? Hopefully the guy who presses the send button will be off for a few days enjoying some quality time at home?

Or.. maybe I can resort to my single parent days where I put the wrong check in the wrong envelope giving me another week to pay.
