I Want A Basic Car

And this one ain’t basic but like the color and needed an image.

After the terrors of EV ownership I am happy with my 10 year old Passat. Being stranded in the Appalachian Mountains, and getting towed to the nearest charging station 50 miles away sunk the last nail in the coffin of that car. And did I mention this was in I-81, a major interstate in Pennsylvania. Must write a letter to Governor Shapiro.

All that said I recently heard Chat GPT in being installed in Volkswagen’s. Why? Why do we want to increase our conversations, write memos or papers, when we are in the car for one purpose, TO DRIVE. Even elon musk says driver-less cars are more than 10 years away, so let’s concentrate on driving!!!!!!!!!!!

I love my 10 year old car as I almost understand all the features, and know how to work them. Recently, I was at a Toyota dealership and the kid, (salesman), expounded on all the electronic features, then mentioned leather seats, and a sun roof with a myriad of functions. To tell the truth I started to fade as he spoke, no it’s not Alzheimer’s, just overload and disinterest. However, I did wake quickly when he mentioned sticker price which was $38,000, and asked if I wanted to write a check!

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a basic car without all these bells and whistles?

Must write a letter to Volkswagen and beyond before they decide to install a kitchen in the new cars.

OR.. maybe I better not as it would give them ideas?.
