Upon waking I quickly dress to catch the 830 D train. While I only arrived a bit ago, 18 hours, I need to be βhomeβ by 2 for a 3 pm meeting to volunteer as a writer for a travel rag.

I kiss my daughter good bye and thank her again for her assist with cabin needs. I leave a peck on my son in laws forehead who remains asleep looking angelic, which he is.

He is a gift from God who will be taking improv classes the end of the month. And if he is wise he will speak of his zany wife and insane mother in law as heβll be on Colbert in 7 months.
Anything to pay the bills.
Recall my daughter is unemployed and son in law underemployed.

I board the train after convincing the pleasant 86th and 20th truck vendor to make me a gyro π₯ for the trip. It is the best gyro in Brooklyn. He pleasantly obliges and next I bound the stairs for the impending D train to arrive in one minute.

I run to the front car, my favorite, β€οΈ and the door begins to close. Shoving my umbrella βοΈ in the door it reopens and I dash in to catch a 3 seater surrounding myself with πΌ. My daughter has given me a designer purse from a bag hound friend as mine is overflowing. She also gave me some antique lace tablecloths for the cabin tables, leftovers from the June wedding.

Am thankful for these gifts as they are light. On last visit I returned with a house warming gift π of a 3 foot long ceramic dragon potter which the Asian woman in Chinatown told her was good luck. π So far so good, but what a trek carrying that on the train π. Thought my shoulder was going to dislocate as had to take her monster 𧳠to carry it to the Port Authority.

Announcement of major delays are broadcast overhead due to a sick passenger in the train ahead. Glad I left 2 hours early for a 1 hour commute. We start again after 10 minutes. Not too major of a delay.

And one step closer to destination.
