In reflecting on my psych nursing career, I’ve seen much. And I think many of these psychiatric illnesses stem from bad parenting.

Somehow the message gets perceived wrong causing these pain filled souls.

Perception goes a long way, and words can hurt more than any physical injury. The treatment is challenging, and resilience is the only cure.

Sat with a young woman last night coming off heroin. Only sat for an hour while the aide was on break.

🩼🩼🩼🩼

This gal moaned, and thrashed about the bed sitting up, and laying down, craving sleep yet, it did not come. There were not enough drugs in the world 🌎 to put her to sleep.

And believe me I gave many.

Next time you interact with your child, grandchild, niece, or nephew, remember to tread lightly and be kind in your words.
