Have had some snow in Sullivan County. A teenager with a $50,000 truck knocked on my door 🚪 this morning asking if he could shovel my walk and brush off my car 🚗 for $20. Said no, as I thought that a little high. Then when I calculated the cost it was a 6 minute job so he’d be making $200/hour on a good day.

After that missed my dental appointment as a lady fell in the post office parking lot when I was heading out after getting my mail.

Couldn’t leave her there.

Unsure if I’ll get a $100 charge from the dentist 🦷 for rescheduling but shall see.

Next stop was 🧺 and Chase. Changed banks to Chase but didn’t get the $900 changeover fee as promised. Read all the fine print multiple times but manager smirked and insisted I was wrong when I asked of it. So, the only thing I got was free checking with $1000. in the account, no big deal. However, that’s how Chase continues to be a big deal.

Under my breath when leaving said f—k u to the manager, and let it go. Had to change banks due to my unscrupulous contractor who had much of my financial information. I was concerned as I thought he’d get more than what he already stolen from me.

Went to Small Claims Court next. Many states have $9000. as the top $ amount for Small Claims, but NYS only has $3000, with the boroughs of NYC having a limit of $5000. Think this needs to be revisited in NYS and 3 go to 9.

Well the court clerk said she’d been thinking of me. She told me before I applied to Small Claims to go to the building inspector. She had mentioned my case to him.

At that office found my construction 🦺 guy never applied for any permits to do the work. He said he would get them but he never did.

The permits are also to be posted on the property where the work is being done. So since I had no permit nothing was posted.

Well, I got a citation but no fine, however, my contractor will be contacted and unsure what will occur on that end.

And remember my Chase visit? Well while in line a young gal was speaking legalese. I asked if she was a lawyer and she said no but when asked if she knew someone who “might,” take on my case, she did.
