Ross Park Zoo

As you can tell, I loved the red pandas

Cute zoo, if that is such a phrase. Was a reasonable admission price, but sadly this zoo is need of much love as I found in much of Binghamton. Maybe those brilliant college students will stay in the area to upgrade, and revitalize the area as the RPI students have done in Troy, NewYork.

They certainly have warm, friendly, and proud Binghamton residents, and that’s the start of any great place..

Well, enough of my preaching to the choir.

As you enter the zoo, you are greeted by the goats who were very hungry. $3 for a cup of food, but priceless in enjoying their response as they eat. There also is a children’s petting zoo in this area.

Next my favorite, the red panda

And a glimpse at their habitat

Feeding time
Do I really want to go up this pole on this hot day with all this fur?

The Lemurs

Hello
Hanging Out
A little love at the zoo with the monkeys conooduling.

Snowy Owls – first saw these beautiful owls on a trip to Grear Meadow Correctional Facility where they hung out in the openings of the granite pillars and acted like they were embedded in the stone. In this way, they caught prey.. Those with a gray streak are females.

The Cats

Majestic Pose

My what big 👣…

Lying against the glass in the shade

Sloths. When I visited Australia I missed these, so glad I was finally able to get a glimpse. They are known for little activity.

Marmoset

These creatures really checked me out. Those eyes 👀 follow you.. Makes you wonder what they are thinking 🤔.

What a fun visit!
