Happy Birthday πŸŽ‚ to me as I enter the last year of my 6th decade. Guess I’m no longer a young retiree, especially since I continue to work full time!!

On to the wineries..

Since I’ve seen much of the sites in Ithaca, and time was quickly closing in, decided to start my trek down Lake Cayuga in search πŸ”¦ of wineries open on Monday. And luckily I found 3…

Six Mile Creek Winery

This was my first spot and each wine was more delicious than the next. They also had fine liqueurs. Sadly, as this was my first stop I did not purchase anything. I wanted to try the other wineries first. However, on my return trip, it was closed so for another time.

Lesson learned in traveling: If you see it, and like it, buy it!

Wines in this area run $18-$27 a bottle. Easily one could spend several hundred dollars on these fine wines. They are exquisite every one of them and make amazing Christmas πŸŽ„ gifts 🎁.

On to the lake.., which was 40 minutes from 6 miles.

Ithaca is known for its waterfalls and gorges. One could take a trip just seeing all the state parks with these lovely spots. This Park was on route to the wineries.
This is the highest waterfall on the East Coast.

Farmstands along the Wine trail.

Did some retail damage at this farm stand. For five dollars a jar one could purchase jams or relishes along with wonderful vegetables and herbs. Holiday shopping has begun!
What a beautiful tasting room and setting
Home associated with the winery. This venue is now being sold to a Long Island couple.

And look at the view these people have.

Donned my suit and took a dip here. The water was warm and perfect as was the day of my visit.
Great place and great food. Good prices too.

And of course a little food.

Truffle French Fries

Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream, no candles wanted or required. Gosh, I’d πŸ”₯ the place down!

What a wonderful way to celebrate my 69th!

From the garden club party last week..
