Note to Nancy Pelosi: Watch John Oliver and Fix USPS

While I questioned foreigners reporting on American politics in an earlier tweet, let me eat my words, “Gobble, Gobble, Gobble..”

WHY?

John Oliver, a brilliant satirist and Brit, recent American citizen, in his latest show, Last Week With John Oliver, solved the United States Postal Service crisis. PLEASE Nancy tune in to his May 11, 2020 broadcast on U Tube for specifics, construct a law, and get it passed ASAP. It can be done easily.

John Oliver keep thinking how to save America. We are listening. And welcome.

Hearing the Call

Recently my phone rang and while not recognizing the caller I recognized the city . It was from Albany, New York, and upon accepting the call an individual asked if I wished to volunteer for Governor Andrew Cuomo. Having applied over a month ago I was surprised to receive this call.

As the short conversation continued I agreed to hear more and will be receiving follow up information from the New York State Department of Health. New York has done much for me in my life with education and job opportunities. Living in and around the New York City area gave me the most joy I have ever experienced in my life. It’s time to give back. Will keep you posted as this unfolds.

As Governor Andrew Cuomo states in his emails … Ever Upward.

Madame Curie

This amazing scientist was Polish born living from 1867-1934. Her parents were teachers with her father a teacher of math and physics. She studied in Poland however because she was a female was unable to attend the University of Warsaw during this time period.

Having a bright and intelligent mind she worked as a tutor and governess reading of physics and chemistry until she obtained sufficient funds to continue her education abroad. Once funds were obtained she applied and was accepted at the Sorbonne in Paris. Here she obtained a Masters in Physics, (1893), and a Masters in Math, (1894).

In France she began her work in radioactive elements which helped contribute to the fight against cancer. Her husband joined her in her research and she was the first female to win the Nobel Prize. Her first Nobel Prize was in physics with her second Nobel Prize in chemistry. The second Nobel Prize was earned in concert with her husband.

She discovered the element Polonium, naming it for her native Poland, however at this time she had become a French citizen. Later she developed x-rays and sadly died due to exposure to these elements.

Her work is recognized daily and world-wide. She is considered one of the world’s most famous scientists.

Florida MENtality

While volunteering in an undisclosed Florida location a trump supporter appeared at my desk. Though the conversation was unsolicited he loudly proclaimed he was voting for trump. Why? He continued stating he wanted to see more of “the wife,” and to rev up the nightly news.

Interesting way to make a voting decision.

RBG: Welcome Back

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized recently and during her hospitalization took court sessions working from the hospital. Yesterday saw a picture of her in robes back with the bench.

Discussing this with other women one said, “I’d donate an organ to keep her going,” and I would as well.

Welcome back, Ruthie. We need you. Stay strong.

The Feng Shui Office

In Feng Shui the desk, stove, and couch are the three crucial elements of the home. Knowing that let’s talk about the desk for your home office. Choose a wooden desk that is sturdy with round edges to avoid sharp arrows which are attacking energy from pointed angles. Keep the desk functional and clutter free with adequate space for necessary work.

Desk placement should be in front of a wall and in command position, meaning the ability to see the door from where one sits. Behind the desk select book shelves or art work which is uplifting and related to your career. Avoid desk placement looking out a window or facing a wall.

As to the desk chair choose one that is ergonomically correct as well as strong and supportive. Clean the chair often.

And for office lighting consider a standing lamp behind the desk. Use no fluorescent or curly light bulbs as chi is confused by these. Standing lamps are supportive.

Have plants in the office for air purification. Live floor plants which reach upward encourage growth and smaller plants with rounded leaves create harmony. Have both.

Keep living, healthy plants in your office. Use silk plants if you lack a green thumb. No cactus or potpourri.

Consider color and smell.. Choose calming colors that are complimentary to your business style and vision. Consider atomizers with an Earth-tone base. Make the office one of comfort and a pleasing place to work.

The Office Cubicle

Organization is key.

So, what do you do if you are in an office cubby?? Many of the above ideas can be modified to accommodate a comfortable work space. If facing the cubicle wall place a mirror on the wall so there is ability to seen those entering the work space. No surprises..

Good luck on your new position.

Dr. Bright: Sue trump For Defamation of Character

Time for public officials to stand up.

I cringe listening to the credibility of learned public officials defamed. These officials have dedicated their lives to the service of our country.

The latest – Dr. Bright is a “disgruntled employee,” according to Tweet then a verbal statement, and I paraphrase, no one liked him anyway.

Dr. Bright — Start a class action and other government officials will flock to sign on. Deplete those deep trump pockets – bankrupt him, even better, silence him.

Feng Shui Career Ideas

With careers in flux ideas for the job search come in all shapes, sizes, and versions. Using Feng Shui it starts at the front door.

Note: The Welcome Mat

Begin by washing the door, clear the clutter surrounding it, and purchase healthy plants for the outside. Have the door well lit, make access to the door easy, open it daily, (no entering through the garage), and make sure the door is in excellent condition, structurally sound, and free from squeaks.

This allows the chi, (energy), to flow in.

True Story.. Visiting a friend she lamented her career. Upon washing the door, inside and out, frame and door knobs, offers came in. On next visit when she lamented career concerns I noted a broken bike stationed permanently at the front door. Upon removal career concerns straightened. Items which are broken, in disrepair, and dead, need to be removed for Feng Shui energy to flow.

Next…

Once inside the home make the entry way presentable and attractive. Remove clutter inside the door. Get rid of shoes and tattered throw rugs. Replace with a circular wall mirror and table. And if you really want to rev up the career color with black and white.

I once knew a phenomenally busy doctor. Upon visiting her home I knew why. Her foyer flooring was black and white. Don’t believe me??? Test it out.

Final thoughts… The career sector is a water element and the flow of water mimics the flow of money. Ever been to a successful Chinese restaurant? They always have an aquarium. Not recommending an aquarium here but if it works?? Another idea is a water fountain which will energize the area in the same fashion and be a nice accent piece on the entry table.

Next: Got the job, now do the office.
