May 9th – End of War?

Photo by Syed Hasan Mehdi on Pexels.com

May 9th is Victory Day commemorating the 1945 Nazi surrender. It marks the Russian defeat of Nazi Germany, and historically a day of Russian military parades to show strength, but with this country in default where is the strength?

According to Yahoo News, and I paraphrase/interpret, on April 4 Russia was given 30 days to pay its default in dollars. This did not occur and bond holders are now looking to other methods for this repayment. While a challenging legal journey this could come by way of Russia being forced to rebuild the Ukraine and/or the United States seizing the Russian assets of its Central Bank. In visiting the Hermitage perhaps this debt could be repaid in art, which could easily be acquired and perhaps for pennies on the dollar?

This default will be sorted by the courts and may take years to resolve, however, perhaps not as the Biden administration is familiar with this. It took similar action in Afghanistan freezing half of their central banks reserves earlier this year to compensate 9/11 victims, and fund humanitarian support of the country.

They have experience with this.

It is doubtful soldiers will continue their efforts without salaries.

Freezing Order

Fascinating

Don’t buy but one book every 5 years but couldn’t wait 6 months on the library list to get this one. It explains how Putin has acquired his considerable wealth, predicted at $400. billion through money laundering, friends, (who thought he had a friend), and oligarchs. While non-fiction it reads like fiction, however, sadly the story is very true.

It outlines the course the author’s journey on the world stage to clear his name after accusations of stealing $230 million by Russian authorities. Throughout this financial escapade many paid the price with their lives or faculties at Putin’s hand. It further explains the Magnitsky Act, which is now law in 34 countries, named for a 37 year old Russian who died in a Russian prison at the hands of guards.

Also entwined in this escapade is trump and an understandable reality is exposed and clarified as to his role with the Russians. His win of the election and why the targeting of Hillary by Putin occurred is also explained. It’s all about money, of course everything is………….

This international romp, while terrifying continues by this courageous man. Reassuring to know that people like Bill Browder exist.

What’s For Dinner?

What: A TV Show

How: Chef shows up at folks homes with minimal notice making dinner for solos, couples or families based on what they have available in their frig/freezer, cupboards.

Think this would be a great tv show. Have shared this with Martha Stewart but no response so trying via Twitter in the hopes someone will reach out and grab this phenomenal idea. It’s something that could be done world wide.

Want it to be a philanthropic venture with one caveat – it needs to have my daughter and future son in law to play a major part…

Tucker Carlson: Really?

trai·tor

person who betrays a friend, country, principle…

Reading what this guy said about sanctions against the oligarchs going too far is UNAMERICAN, and disgusting. What side is this wealthy prep boy on? Has he lost his mind? And now Russians are using his rhetoric to feed their Russian news agency. Doesn’t he realize the oligarchs are paying for this war, and the mercenaries that are being supplied to execute the innocent Ukrainian people. An 83 year old woman was stripped, and raped this week in front of her husband, then left naked. Does he read the news about what is happening over there and who is funding these horrific acts???????????????

Let’s send him to Russia on a one way flight.

And the entire Fox News Network as well.

They are nothing but criminals interested in sensationalizing to increase ratings, and divide America. We need to stand together during this time or Russia will be at our shores.

Oligarchs need to be tried for war crimes.

In these Fox News segments they are committing……………..

Treason

Attacking an authority to which one owes allegiance. This involves acts such as participating in a war against one’s native country, and attempting to overthrow its country…

Tucker Carlson sure fits the bill on this. We need to start a Go Fund Me for his ticket and send him packing.

Watching this War has taken a toll.. The Ukrainians continue their brave assault, and their ingenuity is remarkable. On this Good Friday some shifting has occurred, and I pray closure will come shortly. Interesting points..

  • Russia’s main war ship is on the bottom of the sea. In that ship was supposedly a piece of Christ’s cross. Was this a sign?
  • Their other Russian war ships retreated, and are returning to Russia.
  • Finland and Sweden are making plans to join NATO.
  • Hungary is secretly sending arms to Ukraine.
  • An Air Defense System has arrived in Ukraine from Slovakia.
  • US is sending helicopters in their latest package of arms to the Ukraine.

Seems like all in the West are on board to end this travesty. Russia is now whining about the Western support of Ukraine. Well.. you started it buddy, and the Ukrainians are going to finish it.

Joe Biden Blooper, but is it?

“For God’s sake this man cannot remain in power.”

Joe ranks with these other folk.

All those in Biden’s sphere are attempting to adjust and spin his comment/gaffe, but the bigger question is, “WHY?”

Joe Biden was speaking from the heart as some articles state, but I think he was verbalizing what we all think. This man cannot continue in power. He is threatening not only Ukraine but the world with his actions. Now he, (I don’t even want to use his name), is asking for assassins to help his troops.

Wonder how he’s going to pay for them?

Think Cory Booker is correct..

Returning after being on the road for almost 2 years is fraught with much work. Reconnecting with the post office, installing new internet, changing house and car insurance, updating/replanting flowers, putting up a new shower rod… the list is endless and to complete these tasks could make even the saneness person insane.

Thank God super glue and duct tape were invented. I firmly believe God invented those for us single women and you know what ….. THEY WORK!!!!!!!!!

This refugee was even happier to return to find a vacant unit next door. My male neighbor with domestic violence issues who threatened me on several occasions is gone, and once again I feel safe. The other peeper neighbor remains, however, I keep my drapes closed. Oh the joys of living in Florida and sharing a wall.

My new grand dog has been named – Rocco – a bit of a laugh for a 3 pound creature. My daughter always the comedian is looking for a gold chain and information on how to teach Rocco Italian, maybe also how to cook eggplant??

So, on to the world and hope this blog has given a bit of a laugh. We all need a reprieve.

New Family Member

With all the angst in the world decided to share something which will put a smile on all our lips..

This three pounds of joy entered our family at 4 pm Thursday after much search. A pure bred Pomeranian with Missouri lineage, he is resting at present as parents actively search for the appropriate name.

Welcome to my new granddog!

24 hours 600 questions

The confirmation hearing of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is completed. Am hopeful her husband had a bubble bath and martini waiting for her.

It was disgusting what the old, white republicans did to her, and it will be remembered. Remembered by all women, with the exception of senator marcia blackburn. She had the audacity to preface her questioning with accolades about the Judge’s family, then throw daggers. Only consolation, every question she posed reflected back on congressional ineptness, and statements out of context.

Touche!

The Next Supreme Court Justice

Addendum: Madeline Albright died yesterday at 84. She is quoted as saying, “there is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” Guess the senator from Tennessee is destined.
