Is the Midterms akin to a Football Game?

With only 20 days till Midterm Elections I am worried. republicans are talking, and have plans of changing social security and taking it away, female health care remains in the balance, then there is the war in Ukraine, the list goes on and on. Then the lies…

Government is not a football game, this is people’s lives.

As I have watched the comings and goings of our legislators I do not understand the football concepts in relation to government.. Don’t they take an oath to, “support the constitution,” and doesn’t that include citizens? Instead “they” monitor the winnings and losses, much like a football game, attempting to destroy rather than do something constructive.

It’s scary, but I have hope.

The only answer.

Stacey Abrams Interview

The Stacey Air Waves – purple is the future of Georgia

Have been monitoring Stacey Abrams. While President Jimmie Carter’s front lawn, and all the homes of Plains, GA., had her signs was wondering why she is having such an uphill climb?

What I have come up with is:

  • She’s Black -the elephant in the room
  • She’s a Woman – perhaps the even bigger elephant
  • She’s Supersmart – the largest elephant

While ugly comments about her demeanor, and how she spends too much time at the all you can eat buffets litter the internet she is to be feared, and someone Georgia needs to bring them into the 21st century. With their backward stance on so many issues they are in jeopardy of loosing many of their industries – mainly the entertainment industry.

There is also concern about health care which if Kemp wins this availability will decrease even further. In her MSNBC interview she outlined some stats:

  • 82 counties in Georgia are without OB services
  • 64 counties in Georgia are without surgeons
  • One in five citizens in Georgia do not have access to health care.

There is marked inequality with voting in Georgia. Currently, Abrams is working on the Georgian Rural Black Belt which were the historically red votes. Her group is going door to door to change voters minds and bring her agenda to them.

She brought it in for Biden- Georgia performed, and with less money than other groups spent.

You don’t need millions to change minds.

Can and will she do it again- I am hedging my bet on her – she’s got grit.

Next Job: Talk Radio Commentator for the Left

I adore CBS Sunday Morning. Well, got an idea for my next job from their broadcast this weekend. We hear daily from the crazed right expounding how Joe Biden wasn’t elected, however, we lack someone from the left defending Joe, and saying he was. Yes, we have Stephen Colbert, but what of a senior female on the air waves talking sense and glorifying the left and liberalism..

I would love this job, and need to explore this further.

i have found my calling.

My lips to God’s ears. I know he, (or is it she?), is listening..

I am ready!

Why the documents were taken..

Quite a compound the russians own..

After much searching have finally found why the orange prez took the White House documents. he wants the information the FBI and DOJ has on him regarding his activities with the russians. All these months he has been negotiating with government officials saying he will return these documents if he gets this information.

Which leads one to wonder – what did he actually do with the russians if he is so concerned?

Believe it goes without saying it’s probably something illegal, and will leave it at that.

of him..

Wish he’d just go away. Don’t you?

Off a Bit..

When you search gall stones on Pexels this is what you get – if only this was the case.

Been off a bit as was hospitalized and had gall bladder surgery. While my stone(s) was small, 1.6 cm, (was the largest), it provided havoc. Been struggling with gi concerns since January, and relieved/hopeful I have resolved this plight..

Being a nurse and in health care for almost 50 years, it is different being on the other side of the bed. Was extremely pleased with the care rendered by the Flagler Hospital nursing staff, and it helped to know the ER doc who I had worked with at the local free clinic. .

It’s not what you know, but who..

Since there is a “big box” medical practice in my area for this issue found it challenging to find another md in the practice for a second opinion, and I was not getting well, though my md said, and documented otherwise. Didn’t want to travel 50 miles so when the appointment scheduler listened to my concerns a provider was found within the big box practice for another opinion, and appointment made.

While I thought this only a second opinion I should have known better as mds never go against other mds.

As soon as I entered the exam room for this appointment I knew something was wrong. The tech who took my vital signs was short with me, and cut me off. Then when the doctor came in things got worse with her “tone,” and while she gave advice she did not hear what I was saying and began to speak faster.

Don’t you just love those tones?

As she became tonier, if there is such a word, I asked her, what was the problem, and she told me, she did not do second opinions. She also stated not to have the gall bladder surgery, eat anything I want, and she would order medicine for the other condition I had, and treat that first. I agreed, and as of today 10 days post visit the medicine never came through, and quite frankly I was afraid to call she was so angry towards me.

So after this visit, went to my car cried for 15 minutes, then drove home.

💦

Followed my new mds orders, and left my sourdough bread with orange marmalade diet eatting anything as she said. I had told her I could not eat anything without repercussions. Well, the Saturday baked chicken did me in with a horrific gall bladder attack, and now I am without a gall bladder. I have other questions related to my gi concerns, but will have to drive even further to find a consultant not associated with this big box practice.

Any ideas?

Preparing For France 5/2023

You needed James Bond to get a train during this time.

My last trip to France was a challenge. It occurred during a holiday season train strike.

Understandably, it was not a welcoming time for tourists.

Since the allure of French castles have been calling to me have made arrangements once again for travel. Booking this far in advance have found fares and hotels reasonable – $850 Air France out of Atlanta, and French hotels ranging from $60-$100., (I go for limited stars with good location, and no hostels this trip).

Clos Lucé Castle – Leonardo da Vinci residence during his time in France

Expedia is my forever source, and receive no financial benefits for this endorsement. However, I do have a wee bit of their stock and it’s expensive. Their service is impeccable, and was even during the Pandemic.

In booking hotels I searched the maps associated with the hotel listing and found a helpful little man in the right corner. Clicking on this fella I dragged him to the hotel site. Here a feed of the area appeared with the activity of people, cars, and bikes. What a find! I now have a visual to align with the hotel area.

Love that little yellow guy.

Next in my search was castle tickets. While many have not begun to sell tickets for 2023, some have, and again in using Expedia received the best fares, plus points for decreasing cost on future travel. I do not use Expedia exclusively for these purchases, and in perusing other sites, as well as travel blogs have found much information. Those who write blogs are very helpful, and respond quickly to emails.

Another French Beauty

The final piece of my research is learning French. While high school French from 48 years ago – my gosh is it that long ago,? – helped, need to “freshen up,” so nightly have been doing Babble for $39/3 months. After 4 nights am into verb conjugation, however, they seem to make a game out of learning which helps learn these dreaded pieces of the French language. Mrs. Goldberg would be proud.

A trip gives one something to look forward to. We all need that.

Plan one!

Oath Keepers Trial

“My only regret is we should have brought guns..”

This is what the Oath Keepers believe, and continue to believe.

In this trial there is no remorse for actions, and as this trial unfolds more terrifying concerns are revealed. But beyond this,

who is funding these groups?

To provide transport to the insurrection, buying guns, hotel rooms, and incidental expenses for the participants all costs money. In this trial let’s hope these sources are revealed and outed. The folks funding the insurrection have deep pockets, and while why is concerning this needs to be ignored, and those folks prosecuted.

My next thought…

Where did the insurrectionists send their travel vouchers – the orange prez or rnc?

Were the expenses itemized or was there a per diem $5,000/day for participation in the insurrection?

Perhaps the federal government could send these folks a voucher for $43 million to repair the Capitol?

Limelight Theatre

Best Entertainment Bargain in St. A.- $22/seat

The Limelight is the community theatre in St. Augustine. This evening’s play was Big Fish, and as the play bill states, it is a musical about traveling salesman, Edward Bloom, whose larger than life stories thrill all except his son. It was a fun romp with good acting.

Here are the other selections for their 31st season:

Holiday Hallelujah – December 3rd and 4th at the Flagler College Lewis Auditorium. This date also coincides with the St. Augustine Holiday House Tour, a phenomenal event which returns after its pandemic absence. Folks come from as far away as Kentucky to see these homes, bed and breakfasts decorated in their holiday finery.

Oleanna – January 13-29 – A college student levels a sexual harassment allegation against her professor. Am sure this will provide much intrigue

The Diviners – February 24-March 19 – young men afraid of water and their reckoning.

Over the River and Through the Woods -April 7-30 – Jersey man announces he is moving away from his big Italian family and the schemes they present to keep him in Jersey. A must see for me! Too funny.

Little Miss Sunshine – May 12-June 4 – the hilarious trials to win the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant.

All My Sons – June 23-July 9 – drama of two wartime business partners.

Hands on a Hardbody – August 11- September 3 – a story of down on their luck Texans with big dreams.

Tickets sell out quick.

Is the f word that bad?

On his trip to Florida Biden was caught on a hot mike telling the Mayor of Fort Myers, Ray Murphy,

“Nobody fu-ks with a Biden.”

Know many get upset with the word but this was a chat between two dems of Irish lineage joking in a time of horrific tragedy. But, taking it one step further –

What does f-ck actually mean?

Auntie Google sources state the word is an expression of annoyance to convey disdain, and contempt. with another meaning listed – the act of sexual intercourse… So, how bad it that?

And in this context it adds a bit of levity between two mates.

Mayor Ray Murphy – has his hands full

So, let’s hope no one f-cks with a Biden.
