Joe Manchin: A Walking Conflict of Interest

This 74 year old senator, a democrat from West Virginia, is worth between 5 and 8 million. He has served as their senator for 11 years, and Governor from 2005 to 2010.

His wealth comes from the coal industry. He founded Enersystem, a coal brokerage business of which he made most of his wealth, and $491,000, last year. His son now controls this business. Coal, a dirty energy, is in direct conflict with clean energy. No wonder he blocks climate change proposals.

He has several grandchildren, guess he isn’t thinking of their future in his greed.

Mitch Mc Connell: Where were you?

On December 17, 2021, a devastating tornado ripped through Kentucky killing 77. It was the most devastating storm in the States history. I watched the footage constantly not believing my eyes but knowing it was coming. Climate change is here. Governor Andy Beshear gave frequent updates often close to tears, President Biden visited shortly after the tornado, and FEMA was on the ground within 24 hours.

In watching the coverage there was no mention or comment made by Senator Mitch McConnell. Quickly I googled his name, and, yes, I was correct he is the senator from Kentucky. Then I recalled he is busily working day and night to block any climate change legislation as it is proposed by a Democratic president. This was his same agenda with President Obama.

COVID-19 in Seminole County

Today as I sit in my Brooklyn apartment I read the outrageous Florida covid numbers, the highest since the pandemic began, and was grateful to be in New York. I came across an article, “Governor Ron De Santis, where are you?” His office stated that he was on a well deserved vacation then it was mentioned President Biden is in Rehoboth Beach on vacation. Curious, I googled Biden today. The picture displayed was Biden on a call with Putin from his Rehoboth Beach home.

Enough said.

Covid Spike

Covid

As we enter the third year of Covid we have lost 824,000 Americans. While this is bad for our economy in many ways it is a change agent as the deceased would have voted against what our country needs most – climate change legislation, election freedoms, immigration reform.

What I will never understand is why republican legislators endorse what is killing off their base, but then again when I hear red states I think communism.

So don’t believe me, but take a look at the statistics. And for those who believe as I do follow the science, and get all the boosters Anthony Fauci recommends.

February 4, 2022: A Day of Joy and is DeJoy next?

On this day, an orange president appointee is resigning as the Chair of the FDIC, Jelena Mc Williams. She has been busily blocking all President Biden has been promoting. With her departure the Biden administration will now have another seat at the 5 member table, moving it from 3 to 4 votes.

What does this mean for the common folk?

Reversal of orange man regulations which gave banks breaks. The FDIC* will now be better able to explore community lending rules, and cryptocurrency without this woman blocking their agenda. This gal was placed to reverse the Obama protections which ensured another housing market collapse did not occur.

Remember that one – I won’t, nor would you if you lost $100,000. on a house.

And no one went to jail.

If only it was so easy to rid Postmaster General DeJoy, but President Biden is working on it. However, one wonders how someone with millions in private mailing company stock ever got the position anyway..

Have been busy since my last entries. Fought with my condo community board over removing a renter who has domestic violence issues and has threatened me. They say there is nothing they can do. And the North Carolina owner, a prominent business and restaurant owner from Matthews, N.C., did not respond to my correspondence. Meanwhile, he reaps the financial rewards while the rest of us in this community live in fear. Oh the challenges of living in housing where you share walls. Will need to stay on the road to avoid potential physical and the omnipresent emotional pain.

After this went to Austin where 4 grueling days were spent cleaning out my daughter’s collection of 13 years living in that amazing city. While exhausting it was a bonding experience carrying debris down 3 flights of stairs, and enlightening to donate much needed items to immigrant families. You see I know we need these families to keep America moving forward, and in light of our dwindling population, this population is vital to our nation. They are good, hard-working folks.

Pondering these items I have decided to go public with my thoughts, and if a white racist comes after me, so be it. I have been courageous, and lived a valiant life. Henceforth, my focus will be issues America needs to face. As a senior, liberal democrat, solo woman, I need to take a stand rather than keeping these thoughts within. It is time a voice such as mine no longer lives in fear. And to the man in Matthews, welcome to my blog. Read on……….

Final Night: Christmas Cruise Comedy

Always great!

Look for this sign on the cruise ships and you are guaranteed a good time.

The rating system..

Since I didn’t give the ship comedians their due am adding a blog. If you come across these two folks keep the channel on for a laugh.

This gal hails from South Carolina and told her after the show she needs to send a tape to Stephen Colbert. While she knew of the name, she didn’t know they shared the same state. She is a big, beautiful woman and her jokes talk of her size and the predicaments she has with this size. What a hoot!

Next – a Kansas man

Ran into this guy on the ship after his set. We had a short chat about Kansas as I had just past through. Told him he needs a sit com about Kansas folk. Have to be a special person to survive on the Great Plain.

This ends my Christmas Cruise. Happy Holidays to all.

Bimini – The Bahamas – Second Port of Call

Bimini is the western most island in the Bahamas and 50 miles off the coast of Florida. It was once known as a hangout of the scoundrel, Ernest Hemingway. What an amazing day this was…

Bimini has minimal retail shops. It’s allure is the beaches. Once off the ship a tram drove through several stops. I elected to stay on the public beach.

Sand art done by a 50 year old “kid”

Along the beach large seashells can be picked up, but ship wouldn’t allow cruisers to bring them on due to customs. Also, to die for beach houses.

My favorite beach house, currently under construction with an infinity pool. Wonder who is building this? Must be at least 3 million..

If you ever get the chance, Bimini is a must see and do. Suze Orman has a home on an island in the Bahamas where she fishes with her partner 8 hours a day and dishes financial advice on the side. Guess she followed her own advice.

A final farewell, view from the ship.

Christmas Cruise Day 2

There is much to do on the ship. Bingo, casino, games, and trivia shows are available as are exercise and beauty venues. Here’s what I accomplished on craft day.. What a great way to meet fellow passengers.

Music constantly plays throughout the day and evening. Comedy shows reign at night with early evening for all, and “adult” humor in the later hours of the evening.

And bring your phone as all events are listed on the cruise line AP.

An ice sculpting demonstration by one of the talented chefs.

And we’ll close with towel animals which greet cruisers every evening..

Tomorrow: Amber Cove
