Have always loved Christine Baranski since first seeing her in The Bird Cage. As Diane Lockhart in The Good Fight she has portrayed a brilliant, fiesty, Democratic lawyer for over 10 seasons. In the next to last episode of the show’s final season a billionaire is “buying” the Democratic party, and placing Diane as Chairman of the Democratic party with “The Rock,” as their Presidential Candidate.
Sound crazy?

When Joe Biden said Democracy is on the ballot he got it right. Wish I could come up with something funny like Stephen Colbert, and his writers, but while I lack his talent am eternally grateful for his wit. He keeps it in perspective.

We are in serious trouble if more clowns get in power. The Maddow Ultra Podcast describes a similar incident which happened in the 1940’s when our legislators were infiltrated by Nazi spies sending citizens propaganda using our tax money to do it. Good people came forward, the system worked and we survived, so have faith we will again.
While I believe we will survive living through the process will continue to be a nightmare. When Clinton was in office I recall him contacting the news outlets as people were becoming terrified over the reporting of tsunamis. Maybe we should do the same with the political tsunamis, however, I think we need to be aware of every legislator’s actions.
We need to know what these people in power are doing, and keep them accountable.
Please don’t destroy Social Security. I thought I already paid for it???

Something else.. make campaign season only 3 months, and do this process a different way. Have town halls with the candidates stating what they plan to do, or have done. Cap the spending on campaigns, repub have spent $770 million as of several weeks ago – oh, what this money could be better spent on.
Have these folks out with their peeps – face us. Isn’t that how the orange prez got his power – take a lesson if anything from this. And while I am a devout Democrat I have even gotten, (in error), emails from the florida senators. While this reinforced they are against everything I stand for I read it.
We need to be informed on what these players are up to.

The 40 day mourning period for Masha Amini, the 22 year old beaten to death by police for not wearing a hijab appropriately, has ended. However, the women of Iran persist in their actions, and are bringing the men along in this fight. As one commentator stated, “the women of Iran are the heartbeat,” and have galvanized their anti-regime movement. To date 300 have died along with 29 children in the last 5 weeks.
Support from the rest of the world has been welcomed by this group, even including the U.S.sanctions against Iranian officials. Women believe, this revolution will occur without war or military intervention. And since Iran’s only ally, russia, is already involved in a loosing war it is doubtful any assist would be offered from putin or elsewhere.
There is a 98% literacy rate among Iranian women, and in many cases women are better educated than their male counterparts. They have and continue to hold positions of power within the government, and firmly believe now is the time for revolution.
And all this occurred because of a scarf.
As I read about this issue I become enraged. The parents who are supposedly protecting their children are the ones who were hiding under their blankets with a flashlight reading these same books as a child. Banning books is the first step in the loss of freedom and democracy.
The rep candidate for gov in Michigan spoke out on this issue at her debate with the current Governor. Thank goodness this gal is 17 points behind as she came across as a nut case in her argument to ban books. If children are not educated how are they to effectively operate in the real world?
The more educated our children are the more able they will know how to choose right or wrong.
Isn’t that what freedom is about?
Think these holy rolling parents and grandparents need to wake up, get a life, and let educators educate.

for those with children – bring them in when you vote. Teach them the importance of voting and citizenship.

In November 2020 my daughter, her beau, and I visited Washington D.C. for an early holiday visit. To our disappointment we stayed in the same hotel as the proud boys. In fact they were on the same floor as my daughter and her beau. Watching television with them proved problematic as these individuals were screaming, and running up and down the pungent marijuana filled hallways. One wonders where the money came from to get these individuals to DC, pay for a hotel, marijuana?.
Needless to say it was not a pleasant stay.
When my daughter spoke with them she lied stating she was pregnant and needed quiet. They eventually returned to the hotel’s outside bar. While they continued their antics outside the noise rafted up to our hotel floor. The next day we were told there was a stabbing outside the hotel and were grateful to be leaving that day.
Started to think about this group after reading how Penn State students invited the founder of the proud boys to a comedy show. Things became violent and all was cancelled,,,.
Where was the administration of this college when plans for this were underway???

Scary – isn’t it?
Woke at 5 am for 7 am arrival at the Polling site. The overall atmosphere on site was tense. After signing in, and receiving badges we took an Oath then signed a sheet attesting to this Oath. Once the Oath was completed we continued our huddle with assignments received, and the hourly rotation of duties explained. Several hot points were discussed – previously incarcerated voting. lunches, bathrooms, and where to stash purses. We were 100% women…
The room had been arranged the day prior with voting partitions, chairs, and the like so our next step was machine operations. Elaborate instructions were given during training, and all staff followed these procedures to perfection ensuring optimum machine accuracy. The machines activated quickly and once on line it was time to begin our task.
While no discussion of politics was to occur we had many voters who made inappropriate jokes regarding the election. All were men, and guess this was in an effort to lighten the experience, or be pleasant?. Sadly, these situations occurred when a supervisor was present, and since I had already been reprimanded in front of my fellow poll staff about being too pleasant, “this event not a social call,” this gave me further demerits. Was grateful on Day 2 of my poll work had amazing supervisory staff and no jokes or comments by citizens. WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!
The day moved quickly as the entourage passed through. The Supervisor of Elections made a visit, and thanked us all for working which was a nice touch by a well respected individual. Fellow poll workers were pleasant, and knowledgeable. At the end of the day my task was to count mail in ballots from a secured drop box. I counted with a republican to ensure both parties were represented. Then we secured all machinery, and placed paper ballots from the tallying machines into secured boxes. It was 6:30 p.m. and the day had concluded with approximately 800 voters.

My civic duty is completed with 9 more days to go.
When I consider despicable republicans this individual is the first name which comes to mind. How he was ever elected is beyond me and he’s served 8 terms.
While he was a wrestling coach at Ohio State University from 1987-1995 it was reported there were serial sexual assaults on college players, however allegations denied. Those in the know stated he lied when queried about these concerns. He states no one reported this to him. However, the players report there was excessive touching during weigh-ins, and voyeurism in the locker rooms. he contends these reports were choreographed

There are two mindless things I enjoy doing to relax – write Amazon reviews, and respond to the news cycle comments. Of late have found the news cycle responses concerning. While my comments usually receive a thumbs up as of late when I review responses have found hate and anger sentiments. Hey folks this is only an opinion.. This may be caused by the mid-terms? Ukraine War? Post-Pandemic Concerns? Climate Weather Changes and Disasters? Who knows, as the list is endless………………………………….
Should I decide to respond I usually quip, “Turn the channel,” as one can tell the comments are from rageful Fox followers. Sadly, they have this vibe, and quite frankly they offer no solutions, but that’s what republicans do. As Biden said recently, and I paraphrase, they only want to win to destroy the Democrats agenda. How true. How sad. We need climate change legislation, women’s health care, new infrastructure, protection for social security..
But as I said in earlier blogs, it’s a football game, and I don’t play..
While have thought these posts anonymous recently received a hate-filled response from someone in my past. I know this as the content was telling. Am concerned but will continue as this is what these bullies do all their lives.

As I watch the local television commercials I tire of what I see. Skinny white women with low cut v neck form fitting dresses selling everything from dental care to cars. Sometimes they even wear mid-thigh boots in these commercials, and if they are carrying a gun we all know their product will be sold.
We all know sex sells. Just have to check out the female fox news gals to reinforce that. And if you really want to get up close and personal with them, see Bombshell, where their clothing room is exposed revealing their high heel collection, as well as enhancements to augment breast and a-s size.
Where am I going with this? Dam if I know, but maybe the dems should consider this in the next election. They say Dr. Jill Biden is a bigger drawing card than the Prez. See what I mean? Point taken.
Would love to see Nancy Pelosi as a blonde.
Maybe we could finally get rid of that prick McConnell if we had a sexy blonde running against him. No man would even think about the cost of gas or the economy with that scenario.
